I’ll be going to Haiti in Summer 2012 with Teen Missions International. TMI’s been around for over 40 years. My mom, brother and sister all served overseas with TMI.
You can help me go! | Donations can be tax deductible! | Please pray for me every day.
Haiti is still a nation that is in desperate need of help after the devastating earthquake of 2010.
We will train for two weeks in Florida to prepare us for our trip. From there I’ll head to the Orlando International Airport for my flight to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti (via Miami). Upon arrival I’ll bus 50 miles north to the village of Saint Marc, located on the Caribbean Sea.
My project is to continue construction of a 60’ x 80’ two-story school building. Schools help provide stability in this poverty-stricken country.
Our whole team will live in tents — we will bathe and do our laundry in buckets! I will also have opportunities to share with the Haitians through drama, puppets, singing and presentations.
If everything goes swimmingly (ha!), I may have the chance to go swimming in the Caribbean Sea. I might even have time to barter for souvenirs such as hand-crafted items, paintings and t-shirts.
When my time in Haiti is done, I’ll be debriefing back in Florida.
